On the 16th May 2017, the Parish Council wrote to the
Chairman of Cheswick Green Residents Association stating that they had decided to
change the management of the Village Hall.
The Parish Council requested that members of the
Residents Association wishing to join the reformed
Village Hall Management Committee should contact their
However, in view of the Parish Council's decision to
terminate the existing management agreement, which has
existed for the last 38 years, none of the Residents
Association members present at the June meeting were
willing to take part.
Members of the Residents Association are very sad that
such a situation has occurred and whilst it no longer
has responsibility for management of the Village Hall,
it will keep a watchful eye on developments and inform
residents of any major issues.
Giving some thought to the existing CGRA pages and
information on the CGRA website relating to the hall,
the consensus of opinion is to remove them. That said we
do not wish to do anything to reduce bookings or the
ability for people to make inquiries for future

Should the new management committee or parish council
come up with its own online booking enquiry system the
above solution would be redundant and we will link to
the new system.
It should be noted that Village Hall
expenditure account for the year ended 31st March 2017
showed a very healthy Balance Sheet of £14,895.50 and
increase on the previous years bank balance of
£13,253.80. Cheswick Green Residents Association wish
the new management success in the future running of one of
Cheswick Green's Greatest Assets.
